On this all encompassing trip through the majestic Copper Canyon, you'll find yourself immersed into a culture and a land that is still considered rural and mostly untamed. You'll get to experience everything from kayaking down the El Fuerte River, hiking to old petroglyphs in the 'Secret Forest', riding the Chepe Train and traveling to the bottom of Copper and Batopilas Canyons. You'll see the enigmatic Raramuri Indians all along the way and visit an old Silver Mining town that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time.
This trip is a Deluxe package that is fully guided and based on preferred hotels, personal pampering, attentive service and in-depth information and tours.

Itinerary

Fully guided
Day 1: El Fuerte
Private transfer from Los Mochis Airport to El Fuerte, a colonial town just 1 hour away. You'll meet your private guide and dine with him this evening. Posada del Hidalgo Hotel.
Dinner included.
Day 2: El Fuerte
Your guide will meet you for breakfast this morning and take you on a guided Kayak Tour or River Tour down El Fuerte River with hike to petroglyphs. Lunch will be at a local restaurant and you'll be taken around the downtown history area on a private walking tour in the afternoon. Dinner is with your guide at a local restaurant. Same hotel again.

Day 3: Cerocahui
Breakfast with your guide this morning. Transfer to train station in El Fuerte. 1st class Chepe train tickets from El Fuerte to Bahuichivo train station. Transfer from station to Cerocahui hotel El Mission. Afternoon guided tour to Cerro Gallegos Overlook to see Urique Canyon. Visit to Cerocahui Mission and Raramuri girls boarding school in Cerocahui with your guide as he explains the history of this area.

Day 4: Posada Barrancas
Morning free to do an optional activity such as hiking to Cerocahui Waterfall or horseback riding. Transfer from Cerocahui to Bahuichivo station. 1st class Chepe train tickets from Bahuichivo to Posada Barrancas train station. Lunch aboard the Chepe Train. Transfer to Hotel Mirador on the rim of the canyon. Afternoon hike along the rim with your guide.

Day 5: Divisadero/Creel
Breakfast with your guide. Morning Divisadero Area Tour to visit all the overlooks, including the seldom seen Oteros Canyon overlook with a picnic lunch on the canyon rim included. You'll also have an opportunity to ride the Cable Car into the canyon. Ground transfer from Divisadero to Creel, about one hour away, and drop off at your hotel. Afternoon free to do an optional activity or just relax and do some shopping in town. Your guide is at your disposal for any activity you wish to partake in and he wil offer his advice on how to best spend your time today in Creel.

Day 6: Creel
Full day free in the alpine village of Creel for any optional activities you may care to do. Horseback riding and hiking are available or you may wish to do a tour to Recowata Hot Springs, rent a bike/scooter/ATV or just relax and enjoy the ambiance of this mountain village in the middle of the Copper Canyon. Your guide will be with you all day and can take you on a private hike, bike ride or anything you may wish to do today. All meals are eaten with your guide at various local restaurants so you can enjoy the different flavors of the area.

Day 7: Batopilas
Full day tour to Batopilas today with many stops en route including;
- Valley of the Mushrooms, Frogs and Monks
- Lake Arareko
- San Ignacio Mission
- Cusarare Waterfall (you may hike to this waterfall on day 9 if you prefer)
- Cusarare Mission
- Loyola Museum
- Basihuare Canyon
- Copper Canyon
- Batopilas Canyon
You'll get out to do some nice hikes today en route to Batopilas if you enjoy hiking. You'll enjoy a Northern tradition called the Discada for lunch today, al fresco, on your way to Batopilas. The Discada is like a Mexican style stir-fry of meats, veggies and local spices. It is cooked by your own chef and served on tables with table cloth, chine and crystal. It is accompanied by fresh guacamole and hand-made flour tortillas. Wine and beer are served with your deluxe meal today. Dinner is with your guide at a local restaurant and you'll enjoy our Tequila Tasting Experience tonight after dinner. Your guide will explain the different types of tequila, mezcal and sotol and you'll get to taste them all and see the difference for yourself in a private and delightful setting.

Day 8: Batopilas
Full day in Batopilas. You'll visit the Lost Cathedral of Satevo, the ruins of Hacienda San Miguel and will do a hike along the old aqueduct to see the tropical birds that nest there. If you are hikers, your guide will also take you on a 3-4 hour hike in the hills around Batopilas and you'll have a chance to explore an old silver mine (bring your headlamps!). All meals with your guide today. Same hotel again. A nice surprise awaits you after dinner tonight for your last night in the charming town of Batopilas.

Day 9: Cusarare
Returning towards Creel today, you'll stop in Cusarare for a night at the specialty hotel, Sierra Lodge. This hotel is rustic in nature but comfortable in appointment. The Raramuri Indians of the Cusarare Ejido live and work there so you'll get an up close and personal view of them without being pushy. You'll breakfast before leaving Batopilas and will arrive in time for lunch today at the hotel. A hike to Cusarare Waterfall after lunch is in order if you are hikers. Margarita's and dinner are at the hotel tonight with your guide.

Day 10: Chihuahua
Transfer from Cusarare to Chihuahua City this morning with stop to visit the Mennonite Community of Cuauhtemoc if desired. Lunch is with your guide today and your hotel is the Holiday Inn Suites. An afternoon guided City Tour of Chihuahua will be arranged as wellm with your guide and dinner tonight is at a very special restaurant.

Day 11: Fly home
After breakfast, you'll be driven to the airport to catch your flight out.

Some Extra Information About This Trip
1.) Our Deluxe Package needs a min. of 2 people and has a max. of 10 people.
2.) This trip must be done from Los Mochis to Chihuahua.
3.) All you need to do is sort out your flights into the arrival city and out of the departure city and we'll do the rest.
4.) This trip is fully guided.
5.) Your trip is completely private so you can choose your own pace and do a relaxed, vehicle-supported journey or you can get out and hike along the way in many places if you choose to.
